Identify your competitors
How Repliq detects and tracks your competitors, and how to use the Competition page.
How competitor detection works
Repliq analyzes each AI response to identify the brands mentioned. When a brand regularly appears in responses to your prompts without being yours, it is flagged as a potential competitor on the Insights page.
Auto-detected vs manual competitors
Automatic detection
Throughout daily measurements, Repliq automatically detects brands that appear in the same contexts as you:
- Brands mentioned in recommendation lists
- Brands cited in comparison with yours
- Brands present in the same response categories
You receive a notification in Insights when new competitors are detected. You can accept or ignore them.
Manual addition
- Go to Brand Config (Management tab)
- Find the Competitors section
- Click on Add a competitor
- Enter the name and optionally the website URL
- The competitor is immediately included in your analyses
The Competition page
The Competition page (Analysis section) is dedicated to competitive analysis. It shows your relative positioning with several views.
Competition page KPIs
| KPI | Description |
|---|---|
| Win Rate | % of responses where you are better positioned than your competitors |
| Closest rival | The competitor that challenges you the most |
| Best topic | The topic where your win rate is highest |
| Wins / Ties / Losses | Detailed breakdown of your matchups |
Leaderboard
A visual ranking with horizontal bars that compares the AI visibility of each brand (you + competitors). You can see at a glance who dominates AI responses.
Competitor table
For each competitor, the table displays:
- AI Visibility -- their mention percentage in responses
- Citations -- number of times their domain is cited as a source
- Share of Voice -- their share of total mentions
- Win Rate -- your win rate against this specific competitor
Heatmap Topics x Competitors
A grid that crosses your topics with your competitors, colored by visibility. It reveals:
- Topics where you are the leader (green)
- Topics where a competitor outperforms you (red)
- Opportunities in less contested topics
Win Rate by topic
A ranking of your topics sorted by win rate. Topics with a low win rate are the ones where your competitors are strongest -- these are your action priorities.
Auto-detected sources
In addition to brands, Repliq detects third-party sources (websites) cited by AIs. From the Sources page, you can mark a source as a competitor if it corresponds to a competitor's website.
Impact on metrics
Share of Voice
The more relevant competitors you track, the more reliable the share of voice becomes. The formula: your mentions / (your mentions + competitor mentions).
Position
The position is calculated among all brands mentioned in the response, not only the ones you track. Adding or removing a competitor therefore does not change your position.
Gap Analysis
The Sources page includes a Gap Analysis: sources that cite your competitors but not you. The more competitors you track, the richer the Gap Analysis becomes.
Best practices
- Track 3-5 direct competitors -- those targeting the same market
- Check Insights regularly -- Repliq detects new competitors over time
- Don't overload -- too many competitors dilutes the share of voice analysis
- Include indirect competitors -- AIs sometimes recommend unexpected alternatives
