Understanding prompt types, AI generation, and how to configure your visibility measurements.

What is a prompt in Repliq?

A prompt is a question that Repliq asks AIs (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok) to measure your visibility. Every day at 6:00 AM UTC, Repliq sends your prompts to all configured platforms and analyzes the responses.

The total number of daily measurements depends on your configuration: prompts x platforms x markets.

Prompt types

Industry prompts

Generic questions about your business sector that do not mention your brand.

Examples:

  • "What are the best supermarkets in Switzerland?"
  • "Where to buy electric bikes in Geneva?"
  • "What is the best bank for SMEs?"

Why it matters: These prompts measure whether AIs spontaneously think of you when discussing your sector -- this is "organic" visibility.

Branded prompts

Questions that directly mention your brand.

Examples:

  • "What do you think of Migros?"
  • "What are the advantages of Banque Cantonale?"
  • "Compare Migros and Coop for organic products"

Why it matters: These prompts measure what AIs say about you when specifically asked -- this is "direct" visibility.

The recommended ratio is approximately 2/3 industry and 1/3 branded for a balanced view.

Automatic type detection

When you add a prompt manually, Repliq automatically detects whether it is Branded or Industry by checking if the text contains your brand name (or its alternative names). A purple "Branded" or gray "Industry" badge is displayed.

The Prompts page (Analysis section)

The Prompts page displays your prompts with their visibility metrics. At the top:

  • Average visibility -- the average visibility across all your prompts
  • Best topic -- the topic with the highest visibility
  • No visibility -- the number of prompts where your brand never appears

Prompts are grouped by topic in collapsible sections (accordion). Each prompt displays its visibility and the number of collected responses.

Prompts page filters

  • Language -- filter by prompt language
  • Type -- All, Branded, Industry
  • Search -- search by prompt text
  • Visibility -- view the best ones or those with no visibility

Prompt Management (Management section)

Automatic AI generation

  1. Go to Prompt Management (Management tab)
  2. Click on Generate prompts
  3. Select an existing topic
  4. Repliq generates relevant suggestions based on your sector, your target audience, and the B2B/B2C context
  5. Select the ones you want to activate

Generated prompts automatically follow the 2/3 industry, 1/3 branded ratio.

Manual addition

  1. Click on Add a prompt
  2. Write your question
  3. The Branded/Industry type is automatically detected
  4. Select the topic and language
  5. Confirm -- the prompt will be measured starting with the next cycle (next day at 6:00 AM UTC)

Prompt detail

Click on a prompt to access its detail page with:

  • Visibility timeline -- day-by-day chart
  • Response grid -- one row per platform x date with position, sentiment, and full text
  • Detected competitors -- the brands most frequently mentioned for this prompt

Best practices

  • Vary the wording -- ask the same question in different ways
  • Cover your key topics -- each theme should have 3-5 prompts
  • Think local -- add prompts mentioning your target cities/regions
  • Stay natural -- write as a real user would ask the question
  • Balance the types -- mix industry and branded prompts (2/3 - 1/3)

The number of available prompts depends on your plan. Each prompt is measured daily across all your configured platforms and markets.
